We don’t buy products: we buy the narrative surrounding them.
To build trust, tell a good story. The thing you’ve made—that software or that invention or that interesting service—that thing is super cool. You know it is. You made it after all.
If you want to convince someone else that it’s cool, it needs its own wicked sweet backstory. It needs to be Barack Obama’s favorite thing, which he heard about when he visited the little record shop in Adelaide and met the surfer/zen monk with the career as an underground psytrance DJ.
That cool thing you made: it deserves a story like that.
Odds are, it already has that story. And I’m here to tell it.
